BANDON  3  BALLINHASSIG  2

Bandon made all the running under very heavy conditions for the first 20 minutes, with Mark Sugrue and Mark O'Driscoll coming close several times. The deadlock was finally broken with a fine shot into the top right corner, man of the match David O'Driscoll's debut goal for the club. Unfortunately Bandon did not keep up the pressure after the goal and were caught after 32 minutes when Cillian Coleman scored for Ballinhassig. The half ended level at one apiece. Bandon started  well after the break, but were caught 10 minutes into the half by a breakaway goal by Micheal Collins. The heavy
conditions were making it difficult to play, and the Bandon midfield were tiring. With the introduction of Jack Meade up front, James McSweeney moved into midfield and his energy made the difference, Bandon now started attacking consistently. We were finally rewarded after 60 mins with a fine goal by our captain, Mark O'Driscoll, who had to cover a great deal of ground to convert the chance. The victory was sealed when top scorer Mark Sugrue scored two minutes later with a typically skilful effort. Bandon saw out the remaining 10 minutes without trouble.

BANDON  9  GLOUNTHANE  1

Bandon Under-14 kept their 100% league record with this win against Glounthane. The home team only fielded 9 players, and were put under more pressure when Mark Sugrue scored in the first minute. Glounthane tried to make a fight of it but were caught on the break after 13 minutes, with Mark Sugrue scoring his second goal. A further goal from Mark, form a penalty after 30 minutes along with two goals from Josh Desmond, playing up front for the first time this season, killed the game off by half time.
The second half began with a fine goal by Glounthane’s Samuel Oladunjoye, whose strong running troubled the Bandon defence on several occasions. Mark O’Driscoll cancelled out this goal with a free kick into the top left hand corner  from 30 yards. James McSweeney increased the advantage with a fine header in the 58th minute. Mark Sugrue got his fourth after 67 minutes. By this time all the Bandon substitutes were on, and Jack Meade rounded off a good display with a goal in the last minute.

BANDON  4  GREENWOOD  2

The game took a while to settle down, both sides fighting hard but neither side in control  of the game in the first half. The Bandon defence were well on top, with Conor Gossage in fine form.  The only score of the half came from a penalty to Greenwood, well put away by Ross Kelleher five minutes from half time.

The Bandon midfield started the second half much better, finally starting to pass the ball around and creating chances for their forwards. Mark Sugrue in particular took advantage of the improved supply, scoring four great goals, each one-on-one with the keeper. To their credit, Greenwood kept battling and were rewarded with a consolation goal five minutes from time, headed in from a corner kick by Paul O’Mahony . Bandon kept attacking to the end, great work on the right wing by Dean Ellis resulting in a cross that was narrowly missed by the incoming Ross Moynihan.
