It was off to Richmond in Waterfall for the girls of Bandon. This was a match whwere Bandon
needed 3 points to keep the pressure on the leadeers. However it was Richmond who opened
the scoring. Bandons reaction to the goal was a positive 1 and were pileing on the pressure.
Bandon gave away a penalty which was saved brilliantly by Bandon keeper Amanda Casey.
Bandon were finally rewarded when Lisa Crowley finished the ball to the net after a great run
by the striker.
Conditions turned terrible with torrential rain falling and made playing conditions impossible.
Both teams went for the winner but it finished 1 a piece.
Thanks again to all parents who travelled.

Bandon girls went back to league action today. Balinhassig were the visitors and started the
brighter and straight from the kick off Bandon were under pressure but the Balinhassig shot went
wide of the post.
Bandon soon settled into their task and were 1 up when Chloe lynch played a great ball to Lisa
Crowley and still with alot to do she finished superbly. Bandon now well in their stride got a
2nd when Crowleys striking partner Katie Driscoll blasted home from just outside the box giving
the Balinhassig keeper no chance.
Whenever Bandon were put under pressure Bandons defence of Chloe Lynch,Niamh Hill,Shauna Rafferty
and Sarah Crowley stood firm to keep a clean sheet.
Bandons keeper Amanda Casey had very little to do but when she was called into action she dealt with
everything in a comfortable fashion.
Covney and Lordan were now pulling the strings in midfield.
Bandon started the 2nd half as they finished the 1st and from the off they again had Balinhassig under
pressure.
Rachel O Neill and Imelda Fitzgerald were playing very well on the wings and were linking up well with
the front 2. Crowley went off on another fantastic run and left everyone in her wake and again she
finished cooly to get her 2nd. Within minutes she was iin to claim her hatrick and cap a great display
for Bandon.
Sj Ho and Trina Sullivan came on for Crowley and Lordan and Sullivan and Sullivan nearly got on
the scoring sheet when her cheeky little flick just went wide of the post.
It finished Bandon 4 Balinhassig 0.
A super display by the Bandon girls and thanks to all the support again today.

Best for Bandon: On a day when every girl played outstanding special mention goes to Chloe Lynch
who was as solid as a rock in Bandons defence and Lisa Crowley Crowley for her great 3 goals
Well done girls keep up good work :)
It was cup action at the weekend for girls of Bandon.
They faced a very hard encounter against Wilton, who boast a number of Irish internationals
in their team and who are currently top of the premier and looking good to win the league.
From the kick off the Bandon girls were immediately put under pressure. It didnt take long for
Wilton to open the scoring. Bandon did try hard but on this day they were up against it right
from the off.
Even though Bandon had a new keeper Amanda Casey special mention has to go to this girl as she
did super on her debut even though the score line does not reflect that.
Well done girls and again thanks to all the parents who again turned up bright and early Sunday
morning we do appreciate it.

It was back to league action today for the girls against Kilinardrish in Coachford. With no
league outing since middle of October the girls were anxious to get things back on track.
Kilinardrish started bright and had Bandons defence under pressure from the off. Bandons
defence soaked up all the early pressure with Chloe Lynch,S J Ho and Sarah Crowley coming
well into the game. They were well marshalled by goalie Shauna Rafferty. Bandon eventually
got the break they deserved when some very good play from the 2 front women Katie Driscoll
and Lisa Crowley found Crowley 1 on 1 with the keeper and she made no mistake.
Bandon built on this and had the upper hand all over the park. Captain Rachel O Neill led by
example in midfield and put in some great tackles.
Eileen Lordan,Imelda Fitzgerald,Lydia Covney and Amanda Casey were supplying some super balls
up to their 2 strikers. Bandon soon were 2 up when Driscoll blasted home from a great ball from
O Neill. Again Crowley was on the mark to get her 2nd and Bandons 3rd.
Bandon were cruising at this stage and within minutes of their 3rd they got their 4th.
A lapse of concentration allowed Kilinardrish to get their 1 and only goal.
A switch of keeper at halftime saw Rafferty coming into the backline and saw midfielder Casey
going between the posts. Rafferty settled into her role in central defence wit Lynch very well
and there was little more passed them for the rest of game. Crowley and Driscoll were causing
problems and were scoring at ease. Crowley eventually finished on 3 with Driscoll getting 5
but the goal of the game had to come from Right back Sarah Crowley when she collected the ball
just outside her own goal and went on a superb run, came through a few tackles and finished the
ball to the roof of the net. It was truely brilliant to watch.
Bandon made 2 changes wit Kate Donovan and Trina Sullivan replacing Crowley and Driscoll.
A great result today.
Well done girls and thanks a mil to all parents its greatly appreciated.

Today saw local derby between Bandon and Inisvilla and supporters were not disappointed as it
proved to be a great game of football. Both teams started well. Bandon were without 2 of their
regular starting 11. Bandon put the Inisvilla defence under pressure with striker Lisa Crowley
causeing all kind of bother.Bandons midfield of Mel Fitzgerald, Eileen Lordan, Rachel O Neill,
Kate Donovan and Lydia Covney were very strong on the day and supplied some great ball to
Crowley and her striking partner on the day Trina Sullivan. Bandon's pressure paid off as captain
Rachel O Neill broke the deadlock with a good strike beating the Villa keeper. Inisvilla responded
well and only for some great work from Sarah Crowley Villa would ave been level. Keeper Shauna
Rafferty pulled off some fine saves from Aoibheann Harte. Harte broke through Bandons defence and
beat the advancing Rafferty to slot home the ball and put Villa on level terms. Chloe Lynch, S J Ho
and Sarah Crowley were once again in great form.
Second half started just as first half finished with great football being played. Harte once again
found the back of the net and put Villa 2 1 up. Bandon however kept playing great football and never
let the heads drop. The switch of Donovan from midfield to play up front worked very well. Donovan
played in Crowley and she put the ball away into the back of the net. With 15 minutes remaining both
teams were going for the win. Harte was being well marshalled by Sarah Crowley. Bandon kept on going
and when O Neill played the ball to Donovan she then played in Crowley and she connected with the ball
to give Bandon the lead. With 7 minutes remaining Bandon's supporters were very nervy on the line.
With Lynch, Ho and Crowley putting in some great blocks Bandon held out to claim all 3 points on a day
where very high level of football was played.
It is very hard to pick player of the match as all girls played super.
Bandon's goal scorers Rachel O Neill 1 Lisa Crowley 2
Inisvilla's goal scorers Aoibheann Harte.

BANDON 1 2 CARRIGALINE
SEPT. 21ST 09
In their 1st game of the season the U-14 Girls kicked off with an away game to Carrigaline.
From the tip Bandon were caught off-guard and with-in 1 minute were 1 nil down. Playing against a strong wind Bandon found it hard to get out of their own half. Bandons defence of Chloe Lynch, Niamh Hill, Shauna Rafferty & Sammy-Jo Ho were under severe pressure. Bandon found themselves 2 down in 15 minutes. Bandon changed goalkeeper with Sarah Crowley and Shauna Rafferty swapping places.
Bandon came out in the 2nd half a different team. What Carrigaline did to Bandon in the 1st half, Bandon did exactly the same thing. Carrigaline couldn't get the ball out of their own half. Bandons midfield of Rachael O'Neill, Lydia Coveney, Imelda Fitzgerald & Eileen Lordan were now dominating the game.
When Bandon were awarded a free Eileen Lordan tested the keeper. Carrig thought they had the ball out of the danger area but it broke to Lordan again and she produced an unstoppable shot to make it 2 - 1.
Bandons strike force of Katie Driscoll and Lisa Crowley played well upfront but the 2nd goal just wouldn't come.
Shaune Rafferty in the Bandon goal played excellent throughout and sarah Crowley had a blinding match.
TEAM: Sarah Crowley, Chloe Lynch, Niamh Hill, Shauna Rafferty, Sammy-Jo Ho, Rachel O'Neill, Lydia Coveney, Imelda Fitzgerald, Eileen Lordan, Lisa Crowley, Katie Driscoll.
Player of the match - Shauna Rafferty.
Thanks to all the parents for travelling.
