Bandon youths stretched their lead to the top of the table to 4 points after a hard fought win over closest rivals Carrigaline in the
youths league at the town park on Saturday evening last. The win means Bandon are the only undefeated team in the youths league
after this clash.Bandon started well after shots from Brendan Cullen,Chris O Donoghue and Cian O Donovan.Carrigaline came back
into the game and took the lead after 20 mins .Bandon were hurt by this but didn't let the heads drop and deserved to get back into the game and they did after a great free kick from O Donovan that found O Donoghue at the back post and he made no mistake with a great header. Cullen nearly put Bandon ahead with a 30 yard rocket that just flew over the crossbar. The half ended with Darren Cullen making a great save after a Carrigaline attack.
At half time the score was 1-1 and Bandon came out in the 2nd half fired up and took the lead with a bizarre goal from right back Richard O Regan. Carrigaline were on the attack but after a miss pass O Regan came on to it to make a great clearance but to everyone's surprise the ball deceived the Carrigaline keeper and beat him from all of 50 yards Bandon didn't complain and could have made it 3 from O Donovan, Cullen and James Holland who were all unlucky to see their efforts narrowly go wide. Carrigaline threw caution to the wind and scored after a slip on the greasy surface from the brilliant skipper Adam Tobin who was really unlucky but the Carrigaline forward did finish well.
Both teams knowing the importance of the game went all out for the winner with both sides going close O Donoghue nearly repeated his
1st goal after a great free kick again from O Donovan, this time O Donoghue headed just wide. With time running out and the game seeming to end as a draw Bandon came on strong and a great cross in from the left was headed in by the top scorer Brendan Cullen who has been so impressive this season.
With a few minutes to go Carrigaline threw the kitchen sink at Bandon but the Bandon defence lead by the outstanding Tobin never gave in and Bandon held on to deserve this one but only just and really showed their hunger for the battle for the title this season. And with important players missing they showed great strength in depth in the squad. A great day for the club!!!!!!!!!!!

BLARNEY UTD 0 BANDON 2
Bandon youth team reached the top of the table on Saturday evening last with a well deserved victory over Blarney Utd in a hard fought game.
Blarney who are in the shake up for the league also had an early shot that was well saved by Darren Cullen.Bandon settled soon after and looked
dangerous with Kevin John Brophy fired over after good work from James Holland and Cian o Donavan. Both teams cancelled each other out for the
rest of the half with Bandons defence in charge with outstanding proformances from Adam Tobin and Peter Flattery, Bandon rarely looked liked they
would concede. Just before half time Chris o Donoghue nearly broke the deadlock with a 30 yard effort that whistled past the post. Bandon came
out in the 2nd half fired up knowing the importance of the game and started to take the game to Blarney with Brendan Cullen, Holland and Brophy
coming close. Bandon finally took the lead with 20minutes to go when a lovely build up, finished with James Holland hitting a shot at the edge of
the box which was to hot to handle for the Blarney keeper who paried it out where Brendan Cullen was on hand to tap in from close range.
Blarney put pressure on the Bandon defence but Flattery was determined to keep a clean sheet for Bandon with some great headers and 2 last
ditch tackles which left him injured and with Bandon after making 3 changes they had to finish the game with 10 men but with Tobin and Mark Muir
standing tall Blarney couldn't find a way through. Indeed it was Bandon who got the next goal and it was Cullen again who showed great power and
pace to latch onto a Brophy pass and took the ball past the keeper to finish into the empty net. Bandon showed great spirit and really deserved to
take 3pts and after a impressive start to the season go top of the league..Lets hope it continues!!!!!!!!!!

Bandon Youths kept their unbeaten start to the season on sat evening with a well deserved win over Mayfield in the FAI Youths Cup.
With a good crowd up in the Town Park, the Bandon team gave them a fine display in passing and moving as well as 4 well taken goals.Bandon started the game very well and it wasnt long before they took the lead through their leading marksman, Brendan Cullen when heshowed great compoiser to round the keeper and stick the ball into the empty net after a great ball from Ronan Donavan. 5mins later Bandon were two up and it was that man again who scored with a great finsh after a inch prefect pass from Cian O' Donavan. Bandon had their tails up and nearly made it 3when James Hollands shot was well saved after great build up involing the two O'Donavans. At the other end Darren Cullen had to be alert to a great Mayfieldattack when he saved well. Bandon did make it 3 just before half time when Cullen completed his Hat Trick after a great ball from Holland. In the 2nd half Bandon understandably dropped down the gears and Mayfield started to create more chances and did score from a set piece. Sub Gavin O' Driscoll steadied the ship when he replacedAidi Linehan who had a great 1st half. In injury time Bandon made it 4 when Cian O' Donavan scored a brilliant free kick for the 3rd week running.
Bandon progress to the 3rd round and with the lads doing well in the league and in the 3rd round of Munster Cup this team is one to look out for.
Bandons youth team continued their great run of form on this Saturday evening against a good premier team in the Munster youth cup.
Bandon went into the game after making changes from the previous team that beat Douglas hall, last Saturday.
Bandon started the game well with fast passing and moving and deservingly went ahead after 5 minutes, when Cian O' Donovans free kick found the top corner, he almost made it two, when his volley smacked the cross bar, Again taking their foot of the gas Bandon allowed Marys to take control and they cracked open Bandons defence and scored from close range, just before half time. The second half began with Marys on top but Bandons Adam Tobin and Richard O Regan shone in the defence, Bandon could have gone up when sub Brendan Cullen burst through their defence, but his shot went wide. The game went into extra time and both teams cancelled each other out and it was inevitable that the game would go into penalties.
In the penalty shoot out Bandon scored their first three through O' Donovan, Linehan, and Brendan Cullen but it was his brother Darren who was the hero in Goal, saving 2 of the 3 penalities with the other one going wide. Bandon did well to progress to the 3rd round of this cup where they will meet Greenwood away, date and time to be confirmed.
Bandon kept their unbeaten start to the league season with a great 4-1 win over Douglas Hall at the town park on saturday last,
Bandon started the game with great confidence and passed the ball well with Cian O Donavan and Gavin O Driscoll winning the midfield battle,
there was some great runs from Jack Donegan from Right Back and the energetic Ronan O Donavan had Bandon well on top. It was Ronan O Donavan who had the first chance for Bandon when he fired over from 15 yards. The front two for Bandon (Kevin John Brophy and Brendan Cullen) have been brilliant for the club so far this season and it was Cullen who stole the show with a great performance scoring a Hat-trick and he has also worked hard for the team. His first was a fantastic strike from 20 yards.A well deserved lead for the home side! But as in past games Bandon took their foot off the gas and let a Dangerous Hall team back into the game with a well taken goal but Bandon were disppointed with a defencive lapse. Bandon took control again and had chances through Cullen, Brophy, R.O Donavan and Cian O Donavan but finally the pressure paid off and it was that man Cullen again who scored with a great low strike into the bottom corner. So that had Bandons tails up at Half time.
Second half started much the same as the first with Bandon on top and Hall looking for the counter attack. Indeed Darren Cullen had to be alert in the Bandon goal to stop a one on one effort.Bandon were back on the attack and Ronan o donavan had another chance and was unlucky to see his effort go over. Bandon did make it 3 when a great free kick from Cian O Donavan who beat the wall and keeper and flew into the top corner. Hall threw caution to the wind, but Bandons Adam Tobin and Peter Flatery were up for the challange for Bandon. The home side made it 4 just before the end with Cullen capping off a fine display with a lovely left foot finish after great work from sub Chris O Donoghue. Overall it was a great team effort and things are looking good for the season going by Saturdays game...
